Ford F-150 Raptor Lift Kit Installation in Tempe, AZ

Ford F-150 Raptor Lift Kit Installation in Tempe, AZ

Your Raptor already left the factory as a desert-running, long-travel truck — so the smart play in Tempe isn't a lift kit, it's dialing it in. Underdog Motorsports is a quick 15–20 minute shot east on the US-60 from ASU, Mill Avenue and the Tempe lakeside, and we set up Gen 2, Gen 3 and Raptor R trucks the right way: bigger tires with the gearing to match, armor, lighting and factory FOX service, with an alignment on every ticket.

Whether your Raptor is a clean daily that commutes the 101 and 202 all week or a weekend toy headed out to South Mountain and the open desert, we respect what Ford engineered and build from there — no spacer lifts, ever.

F-150 Raptor Builds for How Tempe Drives

Tempe is a younger, drive-it-everywhere crowd — ASU students and grads, tech commuters, families packed between the US-60, the 101 and the 202 — and a lot of Raptors here pull double duty as a slick daily and a weekend escape rig running down to South Mountain or out past the edge of the Valley into open desert. The Raptor is built for exactly that split. Ford gave it a 5-link coil rear with a Panhard bar and FOX Live Valve dampers (the Gen 3 runs the 3.1 internal-bypass setup), and the Raptor R adds the supercharged 5.2L V8 that puts extra weight over the nose. Trucks optioned with the 37 Performance Package already roll 37s from the factory. That's a genuine long-travel platform out of the box, so our job is never to "lift" it.

Instead we tune the truck to what you actually ask of it. That means stepping up to 37s if you're on 35s (with attention to the known rub and clearance limits), re-gearing so the bigger meats don't kill your throttle response or tow manners on the freeway, adding bumpers, sliders and skid plates that fit the Raptor's wider track, and sorting lighting for pre-dawn trail starts. And because those FOX internal-bypass shocks are the heart of the truck, we service, rebuild and re-valve them in-house as the miles add up — a daily-driven Tempe Raptor eats pavement heat and desert washboard both, and fresh damping is what keeps it planted on the US-60 and composed when the road ends.

What We Install on Your Raptor

Suspension & FOX Service

We keep the factory long-travel geometry and focus on what makes it last: FOX Live Valve rebuilds, re-valves and bypass service, plus bump-stop and Panhard checks so your coil rear and front struts stay dialed.

Wheels & Tires

35s and 37s mounted and balanced on wheels with the right offset for the Raptor's wide stance — sized to clear at full stuff without chewing the liners on the washboard.

Armor & Bumpers

Front and rear bumpers, rock sliders and skid plates built for the Raptor's track width — protection for desert two-tracks and South Mountain ledges without wrecking the approach angle.

Lighting

Ditch lights, light bars and pods wired clean for early starts and late returns — the kind of setup a Tempe owner leaving before sunrise for the desert actually uses.

Overland & Re-Gearing

Re-gearing to match 37s, plus bed racks, storage and recovery gear so a Raptor that commutes all week is ready to load up and head out Friday afternoon.

Alignment

Every build leaves with a proper alignment — non-negotiable on a truck that spends its week on the 101 and 202 and its weekends in the dirt.

Tempe F-150 Raptor FAQ

Does my Raptor even need a lift kit?

No — and that's the point. The Raptor comes with factory long-travel suspension, FOX Live Valve dampers and a wide track already. A lift kit works against that engineering. We build on what Ford gave you: tires, gearing, armor, lighting and shock service.

Can I fit 37s if I'm on 35s?

Yes on most trucks — and factory-37 trucks already have them. We fit 37s with attention to the known clearance and rub points, then re-gear so your Raptor drives and tows the way it should on the Tempe freeways.

Do you service the factory FOX Live Valve shocks?

We do. We rebuild, re-valve and service the internal-bypass FOX dampers in-house. Daily desert and freeway miles wear them, and fresh damping is the single biggest thing that keeps your Raptor feeling new.

Do you work on the Raptor R?

Yes. The supercharged 5.2L Raptor R carries more weight up front, so we account for that in tire, gearing and setup choices — same long-travel platform, just tuned for the heavier nose.

How far is the shop from Tempe?

About 15–20 minutes east on the US-60 to our shop at 1845 S Power Rd in Mesa, near Power & Baseline. Easy from ASU, Mill Ave, the lakeside or anywhere off the 101 and 202.

Is an alignment included?

Always. Every install at Underdog includes a full alignment — and we never use spacer lifts. It's how a Tempe daily driver stays tracking straight after the work is done.
