Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro & Trailhunter Lift Kit Installation in Gilbert, AZ
Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro & Trailhunter Lift Kit Installation in Gilbert, AZ
Gilbert has turned into 4Runner country, and the new 6th-gen TRD Pro and Trailhunter are showing up in driveways all over the Power Road corridor. From our shop near Power & Baseline it's a quick 10–20 minute hop up Power Rd, so getting your i-FORCE MAX rig dialed in doesn't eat a weekend.
These trucks leave the factory genuinely capable — the question in Gilbert is almost never "how do I lift it," it's "how do I fit real tires, keep the ride, and set it up for the Beeline runs out to Sycamore Creek and the Superstitions without voiding the good stuff." That's exactly the build we do.

4Runner TRD Pro & Trailhunter Builds for How Gilbert Drives
Most Gilbert 4Runners live a double life: school runs, the commute down the 202 and errands around Val Vista and San Tan Village all week, then loaded up Friday night for a desert weekend out the Beeline to Sycamore Creek, up through Bulldog Canyon or into the Superstitions. The 2025+ 6th-gen platform is well suited to that, but it's heavier than people expect — the i-FORCE MAX hybrid adds real curb weight over the front IFS, and adding bigger tires, sliders, a rack and overland gear only piles more on. That weight is what we plan the build around, so the truck still rides and handles the way it should once it's loaded.
The two trims start from different places. The TRD Pro rolls on factory FOX QS3 adjustable dampers front and rear (IFS coilover up front, a solid multi-link coil rear axle out back) — a great base that we tune, re-valve or step up as you add weight and tires. The Trailhunter is the interesting one for us: it ships with Old Man Emu (ARB) position-sensitive suspension from the factory, plus Rigid lighting and bed/rack hardware. OME is one of our authorized lines, so we're not stuck sending you back to the dealer — we can service it, fine-tune it, or step it up in-house. On either trim, Gilbert owners are typically fitting 34–35" tires, re-gearing so the hybrid drivetrain isn't straining under them, running upper control arms if we lift the IFS front, and adding rock sliders, skids, a roof rack and a drawer/storage setup for the Sycamore Creek and Superstition trips. Every install leaves with a proper alignment — and we never use a spacer lift to fake height.
What We Install on Your 4Runner TRD Pro & Trailhunter
Suspension & Lift
FOX QS3 re-valve and tuning on the TRD Pro; OME service, tuning and step-ups on the Trailhunter; ICON, Bilstein and King options when you want to go further. Front IFS leveling/lift with matched rear coils — never a spacer.
Wheels & Tires
34–35" all-terrains and hybrid-terrains on the right-offset wheels so they clear and wear evenly, with trimming and UCAs where the IFS front needs it.
Armor & Bumpers
Rock sliders, front and rear bumpers, and skid plates to protect the hybrid battery and drivetrain in Bulldog Canyon and the Superstition trails.
Lighting
Ditch lights, light bars, pods and reverse/area lighting — integrated cleanly, building on the Rigid gear the Trailhunter already carries.
Overland Setups
Roof racks, bed racks, drawer and storage systems, rooftop tents and dual-battery/power setups for weekend trips out the Beeline.
Alignment
Every suspension install includes a full alignment — non-negotiable on a heavy IFS rig if you want straight tracking and even tire wear.
Gilbert 4Runner TRD Pro & Trailhunter FAQ
How far is your shop from Gilbert?
We're at 1845 S Power Rd in Mesa, near Power & Baseline — a straight shot up Power Rd, about 10–20 minutes from most of Gilbert. Easy to drop off before work and grab after.
Does my TRD Pro or Trailhunter even need a lift?
Often not a big one. Both come off-road ready, so most Gilbert builds are about fitting 34–35" tires, keeping the ride right under the hybrid's extra weight, and adding armor and overland gear — not chasing inches. We'll tell you honestly what your goals actually require.
Can you work on the Trailhunter's factory OME suspension?
Yes. Old Man Emu is one of our authorized lines, so unlike a lot of shops we can service, tune or step up the Trailhunter's factory OME position-sensitive setup in-house instead of sending you to the dealer.
Do I need to re-gear for 35s on the i-FORCE MAX?
We usually recommend it. The 6th-gen is heavy with the hybrid system, and bigger tires change the effective gearing — re-gearing keeps throttle response and towing feeling right and takes strain off the drivetrain.
Will this hold up to the Superstitions and Bulldog Canyon?
That's what we build for. Sliders and skids protect the underside and hybrid battery on the rocky Beeline-area trails, and proper suspension tuning keeps the truck composed loaded with gear and passengers.
Will a lift void my warranty?
Professionally installed, matched components generally don't blanket-void your warranty — and spacer lifts, which we never use, are exactly the kind of shortcut that causes problems. We install it right and align it so it drives like Toyota intended, only taller.
