Best Shocks Lift Options for the Ford Bronco

Best Shocks & Lift Options for the Ford Bronco

Fits 2021–2026 Ford Bronco (4-door & 2-door). The Bronco is one of the most capable trucks to ever roll off a factory line — but the base dampers are tuned for compromise, and almost everyone wants to clear a bigger tire. The right shocks unlock the high-speed desert capability that's already baked into the chassis.

This is our straight-talk guide to every leveling, lift, and shock option worth running — and we install and dial in every one of them right here in Mesa, AZ.

What's Specific About the Bronco

The Bronco is different from every truck on this list. Up front it runs an independent front suspension (IFS) with coilovers, and out back it's a 5-link coil-sprung solid axle — so unlike a Tacoma or F-150, the rear rides on coils and shocks, not leaf springs. That means both ends get lifted and controlled with proper coilovers and shocks.

The Bronco-specific thing to know: if you've got the Sasquatch package, you already came with 35" tires and Bilstein position-sensitive dampers — a great start, but the shocks are the first thing owners outgrow when they start hitting speed in the desert. Non-Sasquatch trucks usually want a mild lift to clear 35s or 37s. The key limit is up front: the IFS only has so much travel, and once you go past about 2–3" you'll want upper control arms and attention to the front CV/geometry to keep it right. The rear coil setup makes leveling and lift cleaner than a leaf truck.

ReadyLIFT

Leveling / SST Kit

Entry
The tire-clearance starter

An affordable way to add a bit of front height and clear a bigger tire without replacing the whole damper package.

Our take: A solid budget entry if the goal is just clearing 35s on a non-Sasquatch. It's a clearance move, not a ride-quality upgrade — but an honest one.

  • Adjustability: Fixed height
  • Reservoir: None
  • Damping: Factory dampers retained

Ride & fit: Adds clearance for a taller tire; ride stays close to stock.

Our install note: We check front CV angle and fender clearance at full stuff so your new tires don't rub, then align it.

Bilstein

B8 6112 + 5160 Kit

Value
The value pick

Adjustable front coilover plus reservoir-style rear shocks. Price-to-performance is hard to beat.

  • Adjustability: Front height adjustable
  • Reservoir: Rear
  • Damping: Fixed

Fox

2.0 Performance

Mid
The entry Fox

An excellent high-performance entry shock — smoother than stock and it handles hard hits well.

Our take: A nice step up for a lighter daily-driven Bronco. Gets overmatched if you push hard in the desert, and it likes periodic servicing.
Full breakdown
  • Design: 2.0" IFP monotube coilover
  • Adjustability: Height-adjustable front
  • Reservoir: None (reservoir options exist)
  • Damping: Fixed; serviceable/rebuildable

Ride & fit: A clear step up from stock for pavement and mild trails; improves traction over the rough stuff.

Our install note: Great entry into real performance shocks. We'll steer you up a tier if you're chasing real desert speed.

Lift System

Lift
The 37" enabler

A complete bracket-style lift built to clear 37" tires while correcting the geometry the extra height changes.

Our take: When 35s aren't enough and you want 37s done right, a proper engineered lift system beats stacking spacers. Correct geometry is everything on IFS.
Full breakdown
  • Design: Bracket/subframe lift, front & rear
  • Adjustability: Fixed height (kit-specific)
  • Reservoir: Shock-package dependent
  • Damping: Fixed (shock upgrades available)

Ride & fit: Real clearance for 37s with the driveline angles and steering kept in check.

Our install note: This is where install quality matters most — we set CV angles, add UCAs, and dial the alignment so it drives right at height.

Fox

2.5 Performance

Mid
The sensible middle

Bigger 2.5 body means better heat management and a more balanced ride on pavement and dirt.

Our take: The smart step up without going overboard — equal parts daily and trail. Very easy to recommend for the Bronco.
Full breakdown
  • Design: 2.5" monotube IFP coilover
  • Adjustability: Height adjustable
  • Reservoir: Options available
  • Damping: Fixed

Ride & fit: The larger body manages heat far better than a 2.0 — confident on pavement and real trails alike.

Our install note: We check UCA and CV clearance at your height and dial it to your terrain.

Dobinsons / OME

Overland Kit

Overland
The loaded-rig workhorse

Load-tuned front and rear built for Broncos carrying bumpers, armor, roof loads, and long dirt miles.

Our take: If your Bronco is built heavy — steel bumpers, drawers, rooftop tent — a load-tuned kit keeps it level and controlled where a lighter shock would sag and wallow.
Full breakdown
  • Design: Nitrocharged monotube, load-tuned front & rear
  • Adjustability: Spring-rate/application tuned
  • Reservoir: IMS / bypass upgrades available
  • Damping: Fixed (bypass adjustable)

Ride & fit: Comes into its own under weight — armor, gear, and long washboard roads.

Our install note: We match spring rates to how you actually load your Bronco so it sits level with your build on it.

Fox

2.5 Performance Elite

Premium
The do-it-all premium

Remote-reservoir, adjustable, built to take high-speed abuse while still behaving on the street.

Our take: A huge improvement to road comfort and off-road handling in one package. Where serious Bronco builds start.
Full breakdown
  • Design: 2.5" front coilover + 2.5" reservoir rear
  • Adjustability: DSC compression adjuster available
  • Reservoir: Front & rear
  • Damping: Adjustable; service ~30–50k mi

Ride & fit: Reservoirs front and rear keep it consistent under sustained desert hits — composed at speed, civil on the commute.

Our install note: We route the reservoirs cleanly and set the adjusters to your terrain — where our tuning time really shows.

  • Adjustability: Multi-height; CDCV / UCAs by stage

Ford Bronco Suspension FAQs

I have the Sasquatch package — do I still need new shocks?

You came with 35s and Bilstein position-sensitive dampers, which is a great start. But those shocks are the first thing owners outgrow once they start pushing speed in the desert. Stepping up to Fox, ICON, or King is one of the biggest capability upgrades you can make.

How big a tire can I run, and what lift do I need?

Many non-Sasquatch Broncos clear 35s with a mild leveling setup. Getting to 37s reliably usually means a proper lift system and attention to geometry. We'll match the lift to the exact tire you want to run.

Do I need upper control arms?

On the IFS front end, once you go past roughly 2–3" of lift you'll want aftermarket upper control arms to restore proper alignment and CV angles. We spec and install them as part of taller builds so it drives right.

The rear is coil-sprung — is lifting it different than a truck?

Yes, and in a good way. The Bronco's 5-link coil rear lifts cleanly with coils and shocks instead of leaf packs, so the rear ride quality stays excellent through a lift.

Can I just run a spacer to clear bigger tires cheaply?

We don't do spacer lifts — ever. On an IFS platform they throw off CV angles and geometry and mismatch the valving. We level and lift the right way with proper shocks and coilovers. Buy once, cry once.

Do you install all these brands, with alignment?

Yes — we're an authorized installer for ICON, FOX, Bilstein, Old Man Emu, King and more. Any height change requires an alignment, and we handle it in-house on every install.
