Since the Stout's introduction in 1964, Toyota's pickup truck lineup has been available in the US. The Corolla of pickup trucks, those early Toyota trucks were little, four-cylinder workhorses that became commonplace on American roadways. Toyota pickup accessories have always made it possible for owners to improve and personalize their little, distinctive pickups.
Most international markets refer to Toyota pickup trucks as Hilux. Toyota switched to becoming a generic brand in the US, however, after 1976. These vehicles were simply referred to as "Toyota pickup trucks" by the Japanese carmaker.
Let's go back to 1992. At that point, the T100 disrupted the full-sized pickup market, which many observers believed to be in the domestics' grasp. The Tacoma, Tundra, and even 4Runner follow from there. The latest one is an SUV, but the first 4Runners, which were produced from 1984 to 1989, were essentially Hilux pickup trucks with fiberglass shells over the beds.
The Tundra now faces competition from the heaviest, bulkiest American-built vehicles. The Ford F-150 continues to rule, but the Tundra has recently established an admirable track record of dependability.
