Best Shocks & Lift Options for the Ram 2500 HD
Fits 2014–2026 Ram 2500 (4th-gen & current). The 2500 is one of the best-riding heavy-duty trucks out there thanks to its coil-sprung rear — but the factory shocks are a compromise, the Cummins hangs a lot of weight over the front axle, and most owners want to level the nose and clear a real tire. The right setup transforms how it rides loaded, towing, and on the trail.
This is our straight-talk guide to every leveling, coil, and shock option worth running — and we install and dial in every one of them right here in Mesa, AZ.

What's Specific About the Ram 2500
The 2500 is unusual for a heavy-duty truck: it runs a coil-sprung solid front axle on radius arms and — unlike the leaf-sprung 3500 — a coil-sprung solid rear axle too. That's why it rides so much better than most HD trucks stock, and it means lift and leveling happen with coils, spacers, and shocks rather than leaf packs. Track bars and radius-arm geometry become the things that matter as you go taller.
The Ram-specific thing to know: if you've got the Cummins 6.7 diesel, there's serious weight over the front axle, so the nose often sags and needs diesel-rate front coils to level correctly — a gas-truck leveling kit won't sit right. Small levels (up to ~2") can be done with the factory-style geometry; once you go past that on the front, you'll want radius-arm drop brackets and a corrected track bar to keep the steering and axle centered. If you tow or haul heavy, load-tuned coils and reservoir shocks keep it planted instead of wallowing.

I have the Cummins diesel — does that change the leveling kit?
Yes, and it's the most common mistake we fix. The diesel adds serious weight over the front axle, so it needs diesel-rate front coils to sit level. A generic gas-truck leveling kit will end up nose-low again. We spec the coil to your engine.
Why does the 2500 ride better than other HD trucks?
Because it's coil-sprung front and rear, where most heavy-duty trucks use rear leaf springs. That coil rear is why lift and leveling stay comfortable, and it's why systems like Carli's can make it ride so well.
What changes when I go past a leveling kit into real lift?
On the solid front axle, once you go past a couple inches you'll want radius-arm drop brackets and a corrected or adjustable track bar to re-center the axle and keep the steering right. We handle that geometry so it drives straight and true.
I tow and haul heavy — what should I run?
For serious towing we lean toward load-tuned coils and reservoir shocks, or an air-ride system if your load varies a lot. The goal is to keep the truck level and planted with weight on it instead of sagging or riding harsh.
Can I just run spacers to lift it cheaply?
We don't do spacer lifts — ever. On a solid-axle coil truck they throw off track-bar and pinion angles and mismatch the valving. We level and lift the right way with proper coils and shocks. Buy once, cry once.
Do you install all these brands, with alignment?
Yes — we install ICON, FOX, Bilstein, OME, King and specialty HD systems, and we'll help you source the right one. Any height change requires an alignment, and we handle it in-house on every build.
